BEFORE ADMISSION

MEDICAL INFORMATION

 

You should have with you a copy of any medical information connected with your treatment e.g. X-rays, diagnoses, examinations results, for assessment by your doctor.

 

 

PHARMACEUTICAL TREAMENT 

 

You should have with you, or you should know, the medication you are taking, so that it is taken into consideration for your treatment. It will be returned to you when released. Also inform your doctor for the drugs without subscription (general use, homeopathic, herbs and others) that you have taken during the last three months and which you continue taking or you may not be taking any more.

 

 

LIST OF PERSONAL EFFECTS

 

We suggest that you have with you items necessary for your stay, such as:

 

·   Items of personal hygiene (toothbrush & toothpaste, bathroom sponge, comb or hair brush)

·   Pyjamas/nighties

·   Dressing gown and slippers

·   Eye glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, dentures (please take care to keep them in their protective cases, when not in use, so that they are not lost or damaged).

 

VALUABLE OBJECTS

 

We suggest that you leave your valuables at home.

 

 

THE DAY BEFORE YOUR OPERATION

 

Make certain that you have completed your preoperational check, in accordance with your doctor’s instructions. The day before the operation you may eat freely up to the evening and carry on with your usual activities. However, the evening before the operation it is advisable to have a light meal and try to sleep fairly early.
